Cannabis exchange-traded funds outperformed Monday one week after one such fund announced it had picked up more than $1 billion in assets.
That fund, the AdvisorShares Pure US Cannabis ETF , was up 2.2% Monday morning. The Global X Cannabis ETF jumped 4.2% and the Cannabis ETF gained 3.9%. The sector has been on fire in the months since the November election as investors anticipate more deregulation.
MSOS is up 34% in the year to date, THCX has gained 64%, and POTX has surged 74%. The ETFMG Alternative Harvest ETF , which was the first to cross the $1 billion mark, now has $1.9 billion, according to FactSet.
